10 days from Q-School.
This week, I played in a two-day event on the Swingthought.com Tour outside of Dallas. I ended up shooting rounds of 70 and 77 to finish T19 in a 26 man field. I was T3 after the first round, but tumbled down the leaderboard with a round of hockeysticks the last day.
I struggled quite a bit with my ballstriking both days. The first day, I hit a few nice drives on the par 5s, which lead me to making three birdies on the four par fives. Other than that, I rolled it good on the greens, but didn’t hit my irons close enough to make a bunch of birdies. The second round was kind of the same story. I started sort of slow, being even par after 8 holes. Then, I hit my tee shot on the par 5 ninth out of bounds, and proceeded to bogey the hole. I got the round back to even par after 12 played holes with a bunker-save for birdie. The tee shot on 13 put me in the hazard and a drop in the worst possible position. I proceeded to make a triple bogey, 7. To top things off, I also put the tee shot on 17 out of bounds. The three tee shots were basically the difference between round 1 and round 2. I still putted well, but didn’t hit my irons pure enough.
We got some work to do before I leave for Q School first stage in 8 days. Looking forward to the challenge!
